FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at an Egremont school yesterday evening.
By the time they arrived at Thornhill Primary School the roof was "well alight", said a spokesman.
Two crews from Whitehaven and one from Egremont attended at 6.30pm and were there for about an hour.
There was limited damage to the roof only, said a spokesman from Whitehaven Fire Station.
The crews used breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.
