MAGISTRATES have granted a domestic violence protection order against a 20-year-old Carlisle woman, banning her from seeing another woman.
The order - imposed at the city's Rickergate court - means that Keisha Hill, of Newcastle Street, Carlisle, will not be allowed to have any contact with the other female for 28 days.
The defendant must leave the Newcastle Street premises involved and is not allowed to enter the house for the same period.
Nor can she go within 100 metres of the property where the protected person lives in Newcastle Street, said magistrates.
The order specifically forbids Hill from "intimidating, harassing or pestering" the female for whose protection the order has been made.
Though the order is civil in nature, any person who flouts a domestic violence protection order is committing a criminal offence. The idea of the law is to give those involved 'breathing space' allowing them to seek support if they need it.
