A Christmas market is offering a welcome festive boost to businesses in the midst of the pandemic.
Holly Horsley and Hatti Burt, who both run Natural Cumbria – an online platform showcasing businesses which put the planet at the heart of their operation – have launched a virtual, eco-friendly Christmas market on Facebook.
With more than 50 Cumbrian businesses selling their products and services, there is something for everyone from children’s toys to experience days. The group has more than 2,000 members and is continuing to build momentum.
Stallholders include: Shed 1 Distillery, Cut the Wrap, Bookends, Little Fawn, Alpacaly Ever After, Monica Metsers Art, Eva’s Organics, Little Posy Print Co, RD Glass, Scrappo Worko, Lakeland Well-being, WERK, Lisa Rothwell-Young Jewellery, Ben Bush Photography, Freedom Chocolate and Vie’s Jamaican Rum Cake.
“What we are trying to do is get people away from massive companies to support local communities,” said Holly. “If we don’t support communities, there is not going to be a community left.
“We really do have to support businesses to work with the planet or are working to be more sustainable. Every single day things are changing and the climate change issue is an important issue."
