As we reach the end of another year we’ve been looking through our archives for photos of Lochinvar School, Longtown.
The school served the town and surrounding area until it was closed amid much local opposition in 2008.
Our photographers were on hand to record many happy occasions at the school including their annual Christmas shows. Do you recognise anyone from the performances of A Christmas Carol in 1979 or Dick Whittington?
The school was recognised as a centre for Young Enterprise in 2002 and our photo shows Andrew Gordon presenting senior pupil support teacher at Lochinvar School, Lesley Connolly, with a commemorative Young Enterprise plaque with Cllr Mike Mitchelson and Paul Luddy and a group of pupils.
