A RESCUE team is calling for more volunteers in 2021.
Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team responded to 70 calls for help last year ranging from vessels at sea in distress, missing persons searches with the police, mud rescues and water rescues.
Team members are trained to respond to many different types of emergencies and come from various background.
Despite Covid-19, they have still be busy supporting the community in times of need.
Anyone interested in volunteering must have some availability during the day or night, or permission from an employer to be released for incidents where possible.
They must also be aged 18 or over, have a driving licence, be physically fit and live or work within five to 10 minutes of the base in Marine Road.
The post is also subject to a full background check.
Successful applicants must complete a full medical and be available to attend five days of entry training in May.
