A CYCLIST suffered a potential neck injury after crashing in Whinlatter Forest.
The incident happened on Wednesday and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team got the call at 4.38pm - it involved a local resident.
The North West Ambulance Service also attended.
A spokesman for the mountain rescue team said: "Two Keswick locals were biking in Whinlatter forest when one crashed causing a potential neck injury.
"The other called for help whilst doing all he could to keep the casualty warm.
"A Keswick rescue team vehicle was quickly on scene and able to park next to the injured party.
"After the team medics had completed various checks he was carefully placed in a vacuum mattress and stretchered to an ambulance for onward transport to Carlisle hospital.
"Many thanks to the forest workers who supported the rescue effort.
Eight rescue team members were at the scene for one hour and 22 minutes.
