Most schools mark World Book Day by inviting children to dress up as a character from their favourite book for the day.

This year schools won’t be opening their doors but World Book Day will still be encouraged and more important than ever as a way of uniting children who have been out of the classroom and away from their classmates for so long.

Each year World Book Day just creeps up on us before we know it and there's always a frantic search for a costume in the morning.

Well, we've got you covered with some winning costumes that you can grab at the local supermarket and they won't cost too much either.
