THE ORGANISERS of the Keswick Mountain Festival have announced this year's event will be moved to late Summer.
The event was due to take place from May 21 to 23 but has now been moved to September 10 to 12.
Paul McGreal, co-owner and director of the festival, said: "The earliest possible date for events of our type is May 17 and it would be irresponsible to press ahead with preparations to hold a full-scale festival starting only four days later.
"At the same time, it would not be fair to our visitors, or indeed viable, to host a watered-down event for a much smaller audience."
The 2021 festival will be based in the open air festival village in Crow Park, with Derwentwater and the Lakeland fells as the backdrop.
The programme for this year’s festival remains unchanged but details of the live music acts will be unveiled in the near future.
All previous bookings for the festival have already been automatically rolled over to the September dates.
Ticket holders who cannot attend on the new dates should email info@keswickmountainfestival.co.uk by March 31 for a refund.
