Aldi has revealed a list of locations in Cumbria they plan to open new stores.

The budget supermarket currently has branches right across the county and is always looking for ways to be able to expand and you could help.

They named three places in Cumbria they’d like to expand and build new stores.

With this in mind, we asked our readers where they’d like to see a new Aldi store.

Here’s what you had to say:

Chris Liam Oldham said: “Egremont would be great to have one on the old site of the Esso garage.”

Emma Black added: “Silloth, to save them having to travel to Wigton and there are no other supermarkets – win win.”

Rob Thomson commented: “Keswick would be ideal. Might knock Booths prices down.”

Kerry Harbage said: “We need one in Keswick. It would never happen though.”

Vera Beattie: “Definitely Longtown.”

Chris Dyer commented: “I can imagine a certain sub-section of the Keswick population having a fit at the idea of an Aldi in their town.”

Jillian Bowden suggested: “Egremont.”

Heather Hopcroft thought Wigton would be a good idea.

Christopher Lavery said: “Egremont – ideal site there now with east road garage closing down.”

Nic Barnes suggested: “Maybe put one in the old Debenhams. Two floors of middle aisle goodies.”

Andrea Harrand said: “Brampton, Cumbria definitely.”

Dawn Collins echoed that Brampton would be an ideal location for a new store.

Sammantha Haslam said: “Egremont please.”

Caroline Mulholland commented that she’d like to see one in Longtown.

Emma Mawson said: “Keswick.”

Emma Christopherson added: “Maryport.”

Lou Wright suggested: “Pooley Bridge. Nice views from the car park.”

Julie Fleming added: “Cleator Moor, as the co-op and Nisa are so expensive.”
