Why not spread some love this Easter – by giving a child with cancer a warming teddy hug.

While many children tuck into their chocolate eggs and enjoy a special Easter Egg hunt or two, some young people will spend the day of celebration in a hospital bed, battling cancer.

And so Cancer Support UK aims to send 400 warmable Easter teddies across the UK, giving a cosy cuddle to youngsters who need one the most.

The teddies – either an Easter chick or lamb – cost just £10 to send, with a personal message on its gift tag, and the charity will let supporters know when their teddy has been delivered.

A spokesperson for Cancer Support UK said: "Things are hard for many of us this year, but it’s especially tough for children who are being treated for cancer.

"Many children in hospital have even been separated from loved ones due to coronavirus precautions. It’s hard to imagine how difficult this must be when you are a child, going through painful cancer treatments.

"These children really need a cuddle."
