A STRING of retailers have booked to sell an 'exciting' range of wares at the pop-up shop in The Lanes Shopping Centre, Carlisle.
From Monday, as lockdown rules relax and the high street reopens, The Natural Collection will be the first of many temporary retail offerings at 2 Grape Street, next to Primark.
The shop which is a collaboration of retailers Luna Amatores and Ethereal Scents .
It will be open until April 18 and they will be selling a range of eco-friendly home accessories, luxury aromatherapy products and crystals.
Afterwards the shop will become home to a number of other independent businesses such as Border Candles, Warwick Bridge Corn Mill and many others throughout the year.
David Jackson, commercial director at The Lanes Shopping Centre, said: "The idea behind it is for it to attract new businesses, people in retail and new businesses to give them experience in a prime and high profile location.
"There is a flat charge of £275 for the week and it is an all inclusive price and they can sell whatever product they want.
"Hopefully they could move on to something else.
"They are there for a week and it's booked up for a few months with quite alot of different offerings such as artworks and photographs."
The rate is inclusive of business rates, service charge, utilities water, electricity and WiFi
The pop up shop provides small businesses with the opportunity to have a physical presence in the city centre at a simple all-inclusive cost, and since its launch last year has been very popular with local businesses and customers of all age ranges.
Jess Swain from Barker Proudlove and Contemporary by Barker Proudlove, who run the Lanes Pop Up shop initiative, said: "It is so exciting to be able to provide small businesses with an opportunity to sit along large high street names such as Primark, New Look, Schuh and many more who are part of The Lanes Shopping Centre.
These businesses bring something incredibly exciting to the typical high street and it is great to see them trading physically again."
This week Boris Johnson confirmed that shops, pubs, hairdressers and gyms would be able to open from Monday.
Shops will be allowed to stay open until 10pm from Monday to Saturday in a bid to spread out shoppers.
