A NEW drama is coming to screens this month and it’s been filmed in Cumbria.
'Innocent' will be released for a second season on ITV later this month over the course of four episodes.
The series, which stars Katherine Kelly and Jamie Bamber, has been filmed in Keswick and at the Old Crown Court at Carlisle using a number of Cumbrian actors.
The series will focus on a teacher who has allegedly been having an affair with her 16 year old pupil. When he is brutally stabbed the teacher finds herself accused of his death.
The show was filmed in locations across the county from September last year.
Four lucky actors from the county where selected from the books of Carlisle casting agency Lakeside Casting to appear in the show,
Sarah Waters, Rahman Telliam, Katherine Simmons and Jan Giergiel will appear on the hit drama alongside 70 extras from the company’s books.
Phil McKay, who runs the agency, is no stranger to supplying support artistes for TV, having done so for 20 years.
However, this year has been different due to restrictions brought on by coronavirus.
He said: “This was a different kind of challenge due to the Covid 19 pandemic – everyone had to be tested daily before being allowed on set and masks were worn right up until the filming began.
“But it all ran smoothly and I am very pleased that four of my actors who attend my monthly acting workshops were selected for minor roles and it was a great experience for everyone involved”.
The casting director is looking forward to potential future projects.
Phil continued: “I am looking forward to starting the acting workshops commencing again on June 6 with more fabulous productions being filmed locally in the pipeline.”
