AN EGREMONT man has appeared in court accused of illegally having two weapons in a public place.
John Sloan, 58, of Main Street, Egremont, appeared at Workington Magistrates' Court charged with two offences allegedly committed on April 7. The first charge says that he had a knuckle-duster at Wyndham Place, Egremont, on April 7, with no lawful excuse; and the second charge, relating to the same date, alleges that he had a 13cm long hunting knife in the same place.
The defendant - unrepresented in court - did not enter a plea and magistrates sent his case to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on June 2.
