A BRAMPTON eco shop has smashed its £4,000 crowdfunding target to buy electronic scales.
Maria Stundon who runs Ria-Plenish, Refill and Eco Shop, on High Cross Street, launched the campaign last month to buy a state-of-the-art weighing scales to make the shopping experience at the store easier and quicker.
She had a month to raise the money on the Crowfunder website, otherwise it would be returned to the donors.
However by May 17 Maria successfully raised £4,195 with 82 supporters contributing.
In a statement on Facebook Maria said: "I am so grateful and overwhelmed with all the support.
"You are all amazing, it honestly means so much that so many people have wanted to support my small business.
"I still pinch myself sometimes to make sure this is all real.
"I have always wanted to run my own business but never thought it would happen and with your help, Ria-Plenish will continue to grow.
"Sustainable living is definitely the way forward if we want to protect the world we live in, so if you haven’t visited Ria-Plenish, then come down and see what we’re all about."
