Coastguard rescue teams joined joined the RNLI and police in a search for a missing person today but were later stood down.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked by the operations room at Belfast Coastguard along with Maryport and Millom coastguards as well as St Bees RNLI to assist Cumbria Police in a search for a missing person.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was also in attendance.
But with further information receieved and nothing found during their search, all assets were stood down.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue team said: "We were then quickly retasked to obtain a vantage point on St Bees South head to try to obtain a visual of any vessels in the area as St Bees Lifeboat had received a signal from an EPERB that required investigation."
A number of vessels were checked and all was in order so the team was again stood down.
