A MAN is set to face trial after he denied threatening to burn a man's house down.
Toby Greenwell, 46, of Westbourne Avenue, Gateshead, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He faced two charges using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour to cause two separate victims harassment, alarm, or distress and one charge of threatening to burn one of the victim's houses down without lawful excuse and intending that the victim would fear the threat would be carried out.
All three charges related to alleged incidents on June 9 this year in Carlisle.
Greenwell had previously denied all charges at an earlier hearing on June 11, and elected a summary trial before Magistrates.
He was remanded on bail until the trial, which will take place on September 20. Until then, he must not contact the victims or enter Cumbria unless to attend court, and must live and sleep in Gateshead.
