Seven members of staff and students from the University of Cumbria are hiking up England’s second highest mountain this Saturday in Speedos to raise funds for suicide awareness charity, Every Life Matters.
Mark Christie, Sports Lecturer at University of Cumbria and the organiser, said: "This rather offbeat fundraising challenge was inspired primarily by the escalation in mental ill-health across both Cumbria and the UK.
"I guess 'bearing (almost) all' may raise a few eyebrows on the way up and down, but we want to let people know that it’s OK to make yourself vulnerable and to encourage anyone who is struggling right now with the challenges that life throws at us to open up and find the support and help you need."
Eden Police have been alerted to seven scantily clad people hiking up a mountain, and have advice from local Mountain Rescue teams.
