A MAN has been jailed after assaulting two emergency workers.
Gary Walsh, 35, of South Street, Fletchertown, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He faced one charge of assaulting a special constable and one charge of assaulting a police officer.
The charges related to an incident on July 13 at Workington.
Walsh pleaded guilty to both charges, and was committed to 20 weeks in prison. The court felt the offence was so serious due to his previous record, the fact that he was on licence at the time, and that Walsh has been guilty of similar offending in the past.
