Peaks have been climbed by a three legged dog from Cumbria.
Meg, a ten year old Border Collie, is owned by Juliet and John Wise, dairy farmers from Silloth, who took the challenge of completing the Wainwrights, a set of peaks in the UK, despite her disability.
Juliet said: "We got the dog as a puppy from Ireland, because we wanted a dog that we could train ourselves.
"Meg is a farm dog, and helps us round the farm.
"My children had the idea of climbing the Three Peaks, although after Scafell Pike had decided they had enough, that's when we decided to go forward and complete them with my Yorkshire Terrier and my farm dog.
"We got to the top of Helvellyn about four years ago after we did the three peaks.
"After our Yorkshire Terrier passed away, my daughter immediately brough Meg in from outside, cleaned her up, and she has now become a bit of a hyrid dog, both outside and inside, but still enjoyed the walks so much.
"Sometimes there's snow, but she only really struggled with some of the bigger rocks because she only has one back leg, she needs a push up the bum sometimes to get herself over.
"Every year we go camping each year but on the first year she took to diging herslef out of the tent so we went and did some of the peaks without her, but these last few weeks we just want to do ones she lost out on.
"Meg is such a fantastic dog, once you get up in the morning and put your boots on, she knows exactly what to do and gets so excited.
"This weekend we are doing our final two peaks.
"We think this is such a great achievement for Meg.
"You can really tell how proud Meg is of herself, and I am proud of her too.
"It just goes to show that a disabled dog can really still go above and beyond, and she is really not held back at all by only having three legs.
"She has really enjoyed herself on these walks."
