A bonfire which spread to properties from a bonfire in a garden had to be extinguished by firefighters.
Carlisle West Fire Station's Red Watch attended a fire in the garden of properties on Crossways and Edgehill Road yesterday evening.
A bonfire spread to the property owner's shed and then the fences of neighbouring properties.
A spokesperson for Carlisle West Fire Station said: "We would like to remind people that it is sometimes inappropriate to have a bonfire.
"On hot days when grass is dry, fires can spread extremely quickly so please consider conditions as well. We recommend not having bonfires in weather like this."
A hedgehog was found hiding in between two fences.
"Thankfully it seemed unharmed and we removed some of the debris to allow it to wander off when it gets dark."
