A CARLISLE museum has posted an update on one of its planes.
Solway Aviation Museum, located at Carlisle Airport, is repainting one of its Lightning jets.
The English Electric Lightning served the RAF from 1960 until 1988 and was designed to fly alongside and protect British bombers.
The museum has a collection of aircraft and aviation memorabilia, such as old radios and engines.
Yesterday, they posted an update on Facebook of their crew bus, which is painted a striking blue and yellow colour scheme.
They are always on the lookout for additional volunteers (museum guides and counter staff) to help extend the museum’s opening hours.
They currently open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the end of October, with additional days for Bank Holidays.
