Team GB's women's hockey team continue their bid for glory tomorrow - with a Cumbrian in the ranks.

Fiona Crackles will be part of the squad that faces the Netherlands for a place in the Tokyo 2020 final.

Crackles, 21, from Kirkby Lonsdale, is one of two Cumbrians bidding for medal success tomorrow, with Scotby star Nick Miller set to compete in the hammer final.

The hockey semi-final sees Great Britain face the Dutch for the second time, having lost 1-0 in the pool stage.

Crackles was a substitute for the dramatic quarter-final win over Spain, when goalkeeper Maddie Hinch's heroics led to a shoot-out win.

The Durham University star has plenty of history against the netherlands, having made her senior GB debut against the country last year.

The defender has previously captained England's Under-18 team, and later graduated from the GB Elite Development Programme.

Tomorrow's semi-final gets under way at 2.30am UK time.

Team GB are hoping to emulate their gold medal-winning efforts in Rio 2016, when Hinch starred.

The goalkeeper said ahead of tomorrow's game: “I think, going into the semi-finals, there’s an advantage of maybe that it’s still in the back of the minds of the Dutch.

"We gave them a bit of a scare in the group stages which is also really helpful, but the game is going to be tough.

"We’re going to have to look at why we didn’t get a result there, what we need to do better, because they’re going to be better having learned from that match.

"But you know what, we’re in the mix, we’ve just got to go out there and give it our all."

Argentina face India in the other semi-final.
