Cumbria Pride is returning to Carlisle Castle after a year off due to COVID-19 restrictions. The 2021 date is set for September 25th and is set to be better that ever.

With some restrictions still in place, the event this year will be slightly different, so we’ve rounded up everything you need to know for Cumbria Pride 2021.

Do I need to show Covid-19 status?

The website states that all entry to the event is subject to viewing an NHS Covid Pass. This is to show double vaccination status OR negative test results as per the NHS Covid Pass Guidelines.

The organisers state that names on COVID-19 passes must match ticket names. The website states: “We apologise that this may upset some people, particularly those who are transitioning, but please note that your name is asked for this reason only.”

Do I need a ticket?

Due to Covid-19 limiting the number of people that can attend, organisers have had to ticket this year’s event. Tickets will be completely free and allocated on a raffle basis.

“This is something we do not like to do, but safety MUST come first” the website says.

As many will be planning on attending with friends and family, you can apply for tickets as a group. For example: If you were planning to attend with 3 friends, choose one person to enter and request 4 tickets then state the names of all 4 attending.

Children will be counted in numbers and will also need a ticket. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

How long do I have to get a ticket?

Raffle entries for tickets must be in by September 8th. Winners will be chosen at random and will be contacted via email with all the information.

Wristbands can then be collected on the day from 11:30 am when the gates open ready for the event starting at 12:00 pm. Wristbands should be collected at the latest by 1:00 pm.

I can’t go, is there a way to watch online?

For those who have missed out on tickets and who may not feel safe attending a large event just yet, organisers have arranged for Pride Radio to attend the event and live stream it. So you can tune in from the comfort of your own home.
