Several coastal rescue teams were called out to reports of a missing man on Sunday.
Maryport Rescue, Whitehaven Coastguard, Burgh by Sands Coastguard, Silloth Lifeboat and Cumbria Police were all called out after reports of a missing male on Mawbray Beach.
The man was located by the Coastguard.
A spokesperson for Maryport Rescue said: "Maryport Rescue were called out at 16.50 by Belfast Coastguard to reports of a missing male on Mabray beach.
"The team quickly arrived at the Lifeboat Station and proceeded to launch our Lifeboat the E-on Spirit of Maryport and also our Search and Rescue assets including the ERB Emergency Rescue boat and inland SAR team.
"As we were Deploying the news came through that the person has been located by Coastguard."
