A TEAM of Cumbrian mountain rescue volunteers took part in a competition in Italy at the weekend.
Four volunteers from Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team took part in the Dolomites Rescue Race.
The race includes technical and endurance tests.
Tom Durcan, Dan Roach, Tom Strong and Rob Stein made up the Cockermouth team.
They finished in 18th place with a time of 2:43:44.
The winners were the local team, from Pieve di Cadore who had a time of 2:11:12
There was a large field of international competitors, with 70 teams competing.
The event took place in Pieve di Cadore, Belluno, Veneto, in the north-east of the country.
It is dedicated to the members of the international mountain rescue teams.
It also gives rescue volunteers an opportunity to get together outside the usual pressure-cooker environment of a mountain rescue operation, compete for glory and bragging rights.
This was the 10th edition of the event.
On their Facebook page, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team said: "Thank you to Dolomiti Rescue Race for a fantastic event!
"The atmosphere was absolutely incredible!"
