READERS have been responding to a letter criticising Brexit.

The letter said: "Boris Johnson kept saying he was going to get Brexit done but forgot to tell us we were all being done.

"Let us hope that his government’s reneging on the Northern Ireland protocol will not bring more fines on top of those imposed by the Electoral Commission for the fraudulent funding of the Leave.EU and the (official) Vote Leave campaigns.

"And let us hope that some of the present generation will live to see the day when Britain re-joins the European trading family of nations.

"At the age of 74, I don’t think it will be my privilege, but I hope my grandchildren live to see it."

Readers shared their views on the situation as well.

Here is what you had to say.

Davidlinda Storey said: "They will still be crying over Brexit in ten years, they need to get over it, the democratic vote won as it should have."

Andy Sabin-Hope said: "It will be fine; we just need a PM who believes in the UK and not the blithering idiot presently in Number 10 being.

"Sadly, that person doesn't seem to be in either of the main parties at present, but they will emerge and take us forward."

Darren Ward said: "It’s the disaster it was predicted to be and set to get worse.

"Only those naval gazers and ostrich’s claim otherwise."

Craig Brass said: "It’s hard to measure the results this early on. We need ten years. That’s like asking somebody after their first day in a new job if it’s going well.

"Hardly a true reflection."

Ian Tyson was full of patriotism: "The world certainly isn't anywhere near as bad as media reported.

"Life is great and going swimmingly indeed, as for Britain, well, it’s called Great Britain for a reason."

John Welsh said: "It was always going to go badly in the early stages, but the government seems to be totally unprepared."

Peter Sherrington asked: "Do you want to be ruled by some unelected person in Brussels who will dictate what we can do in our own country?"
