A beloved railway company has issued a positive update on its repair work.
The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Company was forced to close the line after extreme weather caused a landslide that damaged the track.
The landslide caused almost 150 meters of damage along the heritage line.
In an update video posted on Facebook, a spokesperson for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway Company said that “an awful lot of work has been going on” to repair the tracks.
Staff and volunteers are on hand to put the railway back together and some “big” drainage channels have already been installed underneath the railway to “clear the water”.

The railway – affectionately known as the La’al Ratty - is one of the oldest and longest narrow gauge railways in England.
