The AA 2022 Restaurant Guide has been released, praising restaurants across the country. The guide provides information to prospective customers looking where to eat out in any given location.
It provides foodies advice on the cuisine, theme, and the address of the restaurant, making the choice of where to eat easier than ever.
Many Cumbrian restaurants have been given a place on the list that awards establishments a number of rosettes, rating from 5 to 1.
Restaurants with 3, 4 or 5 Rosettes represent the best in the UK. The AA guide states that they are “often internationally recognised and serve cuisine of the highest standard.”
We’ve pulled together a list of the restaurants across Cumbria with the highest rosettes, so you know where to visit for your next meal.
L’Enclume – 5 rosettes
L’Enclume in Cartmel has been awarded 5 rosettes on the AA guide. Its modern British cuisine is highlighted by the beautiful table decorations and remote location. According to the guide, “L’Enclume is in many ways the ultimate destination restaurant...”
Forest Side – 4 rosettes
Forest Side Hotel in Ambleside was given 4 rosettes for its views, food and interiors. The 8 or 4 course menus evolve with the seasons and according to the guide, the sommelier is always on hand to assist with pairing wines.
HRiSHi at Gilpin Hotel and Lake House – 4 rosettes
A “pin-sharp attention to detail and exciting contemporary cooking” has seen HRiSHi in Windermere receive 4 rosettes. The restaurant serves up modern British cuisine with Asian influences that make the food “infinitely Instagrammable”.
