POLICE and fire are in attendance at a fire on the Rockcliffe Estate near Kingmoor Park, northern Carlisle.
Due to the smoke, which may involve fumes from burning asbestos, nearby residences including Rockcliffe village are advised to close all doors and windows as a precaution.
Police were called to the scene at 10:27am this morning.
Carlisle East Fire Station said that crews discovered a large industrial unit containing approximately 500 tonnes of plastic, was well alight.
As of 12.25pm, there were five fire engines, the aerial ladder platform, and a water bowser in attendance.
