Remembrance Day services will be conducted across Cumbria this year after many were cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Remembrance Day (Armistice Day) services will take place on Thursday, November 11 and Remembrance Sunday falls on November 14. A two-minute silence is observed on both these days at 11am.
These services remember those who lost their lives in World War 1 and following conflicts.
Across Cumbria there are many services and parades taking part for those wishing to attend and pay respects.

In a statement given last Friday, the palace said: “Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday November 13.
“However, it remains The Queen’s firm intention to be present for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, on November 14.”
