Across Cumbria, there are some road closures and road works in place this weekend that could cause disruption to your journey.
To ensure your journey has as few disruptions as possible, we’ve listed the closures and road works being done in Cumbria this weekend according to the AA and Traffic England.
M6 closures
M6 southbound between junctions J36 and J35
Roadworks will cause disruption from 9:00pm November 12 until 6:00am November 13 and will see three lanes being closed.
Southbound between junctions J37 and J36
Two lanes will be closed while emergency barriers are repaired. This will cause disruption from 8:00pm November 14 until 5:00am November 15.
Southbound between junctions J44 and J41
Disruption may be caused by active roadworks that will be in place until November 18.
Northbound between J44 and J55
Lane closed due to roadworks. Disruption is expected until 8:00pm on Friday, November 12.
According to the AA, the following disruptions are active on the M6. It does not state when they will cease.
Southbound between J42 A6 and J41 B5305
One lane closed due to construction.
Both ways from J39 B6261 to J40 A66
One lane is closed, narrow lanes and speed restrictions of 50mph are in place due to construction. Lane 3 is closed in both directions.
A590 closures
A590 westbound between the junctions with the A5087 west of Ulverston and the A595
Active roadworks until November 20 could cause disruption.
A590 eastbound between the junctions with the A5087 east of Ulverston and the A5092
Disruption from roadworks is expected until 11:00pm on Friday, November 12.
A595 closures
A595 northbound between the junctions with the A597 and the A596
A lane will be closed on the A595 as emergency barriers are repaired. The closure will begin at 8:00am on Sunday, November 14 and will continue until 10:00pm the same evening.
