"Society is very well established in Carlisle but I’m looking forward to further embedding it in the local community and working to support other local organisations and charities."
Yorkshire Building Society is owned by its members, such as those who have the savings or investment accounts, rather than investors. So customer care is essential to the company's success. After graduating in Musical Theatre from the University of Cumbria, he has been tasked with using his creativity and communication skills to raise awareness of the firm and its role in the community.
Chief Operating Officer at Stan Sherlock Associates, Emma Sherlock said: "Matt really impressed us at interview. His creative mind alongside his business insight makes him perfect for the role. Matt cares deeply about customer service and getting it right for the client, which goes hand in hand with our Stan Sherlock Associates values and the needs of the Yorkshire Building Society.
"He has an eye for detail and is so organised. It’s unusual to find someone with both great organisational skills and brilliant interpersonal skills and he has both. We’re lucky to have him – he’s a real asset to the team."
Prior to his new role and starting his degree Matt worked in the insurance department of an energy company. Originally from Perth he has now set up home in Carlisle.
