Cumbrian hooker Jamie Blamire earned praise after helping England conquer world champions South Africa.
The Seaton star rose to the challenge after being called into the starting XV at Twickenham.
Newcastle Falcons man Blamire played the first 61 minutes as England edged a dramatic 27-26 victory.
His performance attracted praise from his club side, who tweeted that Blamire "put in a great hour’s work for England in beating world champions South Africa.
"You’re a credit to your club and country," they added.
Blamire came in for the injured Jamie George in the biggest game of his burgeoning career so far.
The 23-year-old earned his call-up by head coach Eddie Jones after coming off the bench to score in both the previous two Autumn internationals against Tonga and Australia.
Former Seaton Rangers rugby league player Blamire was in the thick of things as England built a 17-6 lead in the first half with tries from Manu Tuilagi and Freddie Steward.
Handre Pollard's kicking kept the Springboks in the contest despite a further England try from Raffi Quirke.
South African then struck when Makazole Mapimpi went over, but England won a thrilling contest at the death through a 79th-minute Marcus Smith penalty.
