A Mountain Rescue team was busy during Strom Arwen after multiple vehicles were forced off the road.
Police called Penrith Mountain Rescue at 11.25pm on November 27 after 4x4 Discovery had come off the road between Hartside summit and Alston.
Two Land Rovers were dispatched by the team.
The two occupants of the Discovery were found to be safe and well and were sheltering in their vehicle.
A further call came in at 12.30am from Cumbria Police to inform the team that two further vehicles were stuck in snow between their location at the time and Alston.
Snow chains were fitted to the Land Rovers and they were able to rescue an additional vehicle which had not been reported and continue on to pick up the initial occupants.
They then carried on to the two stuck vehicles which had been reported to the Police.
Team members were able to dig the first of these, a 4x4, out and picked up the occupants of the third vehicle.
Both team Land Rovers and the dug out 4x4 drove in a convoy to Alston and back to Penrith via Hallbankgate, Warwick Bridge and the M6.
The two occupants were taken to a Hotel for the night.
