Cumbrian badminton star Lauren Smith is going for glory in the World Championships in Spain.
The double Olympian, from Longtown, is representing England in the women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Smith and Chloe Birch, having received a bye in the first round, made it safely past Brazilian duo Jacquieline and Samia Lima in the second round with a 21-12, 21-14 victory.
The English ninth seeds are now waiting to learn their third round opponents, with Bulgarian eighth seeds Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva taking on Turkish pair Bengisu Ercetin and Nazlıcan Inci today for the right to face Smith and Birch.
In the mixed doubles, meanwhile, Smith and Marcus Ellis are in second round action today against Kyohei Yamashita and Naru Shinoya of Japan.
Smith and Ellis are sixth seeds - the highest-seeded English entrants in the BWF tournament, which is being held in Huelva and runs until Sunday, December 19.
