A Mountain Rescue team was called out to a well-known pass in the Lake District after a one of a group of walkers heard a 'snapping noise' after slipping on a stone.
Keswick Mountain Rescue were called at out at 2.26pm on Sunday December 19 to help the injured member of the walking party - a family - who were on the Drum House path above Honister Pass.
A spokesperson for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: "As there was no mobile phone signal a family member rushed down to the mine buildings by the road to request [Mountain Rescue] help.
"The team deployed to Honister and drove up the mine track and parked close to the casualty site.
"The casualty was splinted, packaged and taken down to the mine car park in the team Sprinter for onward transfer to hospital in their own vehicle."
