They met 10 years ago in the local pub and became close on a charity motorbike run nine and a half years ago. They got engaged when Stuart proposed at home on Christmas morning in 2018.
The wedding which took place in November had a rustic theme. Emma, who was a very relaxed bride, wore a Phoenix gown and veil from A Family Affair. Her hair was by Leah Nelson and Roxy and make-up was done by Leonie and Charlie-Jo.
Jack Bellas was best man and Michael Robinson, the groom’s brother; Karl Simpson, his brother-in-law and friend Andrew Wignall were ushers with brother-in-law Craig Robinson as an unofficial usher. Nephews Harry and Ben Robinson and Archie Simpson were page boys.
Emma’s bridesmaids were her friend Stella Graham; sisters Sarah Robinson and Nicola Atkins-Simpson and Stuart’s cousin Sophie Bell. Niece Paige Simpson was flower girl.
The wedding flowers were supplied by Flower Designs of Penrith and arranged by the bridegroom’s mother Patricia Robinson. The couple travelled in the bride’s father’s Mark 2 Ford Capri, 3 litre Ghia.
A reception for 85 day guests was held at the Heather Glen Country House with a further 80 night guests.
The couple made a donation to Alzheimer’s Society in lieu of favours and all their guests received a Forget-Me-Knot pin.
The wedding cake was hand made and decorated by the bridegroom’s mother Patricia Robinson and it was a three tiered sponge of vanilla, chocolate and lemon. She also made an additional lemon cake and a fruit cake.
The couple had their first dance to Jason Miraz’s Lucky.
The Soul Survivors wedding band provided the evening entertainment.
The bride is the daughter of Eddie and Bronwen Atkins of Great Salkeld and the groom is the son of Neil and Pat Robinson of Edenhall. The bride and groom’s mothers’ dresses were hand-made by Karl Bowman with hats made by Sister Fascinators.
The day was recorded in beautiful photographs by Jill at Harrington’s.
