FUNDING is set to support Cumbrian climate awareness initiatives and the public can learn more at a webinar next week.
Community Climate Grants are on offer for schemes designed to raise awareness about global warming and reducing carbon emissions.
Cumbria Action for Sustainability is holding a webinar on January 12 to inform the public about the grants and how they could use the funding to make a difference.
Helen Atwell from Cumbria Action for Sustainability will host the session on Zoom, informing attendees on who is eligible for the funding, how to apply and what support is available.
Grants are offered from a £100,000 fund, which was bolstered by a £10,000 donation from Allerdale Borough Council.
A spokesperson for CAfS said: "We are particularly keen to reach out to groups getting set up in areas of the county which haven’t previously taken action to address the climate crisis at a local level, and to offer support to groups working alongside more vulnerable individuals who will be hit hardest by climate change."
The webinar is free to attend and lasts for one hour from 1pm until 2pm.
