There are several road closures and works being done across Cumbria this week, beginning January 10, that may cause disruption to your journey.
Data taken from Highways England shows various closures across the M6, the A595 and more.
We’ve listed the active and future roadworks set to affect Cumbria this week.
M6 closures and works
M6 southbound between junctions J44 and J43 – Emergency barriers are being repaired which will see a lane being closed. This will be in place from 8pm on Thursday, January 13 until 5pm January 14.
M6 northbound entry slip at junction J42 – Emergency roadworks are planned between 8pm January 14 to 5am January 15. This will see both lanes closed.
M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – Roadworks are planned between 8pm on Monday, January 10 and 6am January 11. This will see all three lanes closed.
All three lanes will also be closed between 8pm January 11 until 6am January 12.
M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – Further roadworks will see 2 lanes closed between 8pm on Wednesday January 12 until 6am January 13.
M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – This stretch of motorway will also see roadworks in place between 8pm on Thursday, January 13 to 6am on January 14. This will see 2 lanes closed.
M6 southbound between junctions J39 and J37 – Active roadworks could cause disruption until 8pm on January 18.
M6 northbound between junctions J36 and J37 – Emergency barrier repairs are planned between 8pm on Tuesday, January 11 until 5pm on January 12. This will see one lane being closed.
M6 southbound between junctions J37 and J35 – Roadworks are planned that could cause disruption between January 10-17, January 24-29 and January 31-February 6. One lane will be closed.
M6 northbound entry slip at junction J36 – Planned roadworks will see both lanes closed between 8pm on Saturday, January 15 and 6am January 16.
A595 closures and works
A595 southbound between the junctions with the A597 and the A5094 north of Whitehaven – Planned emergency roadside drain works will see one lane closed between 8pm on Monday, January 10 until 9:30am January 11.
A595 northbound between the junctions with the A5094 north of Whitehaven and the A597 – Works on emergency roadside drain are also planned between 9pm on Monday, January 10 to 6pm on January 11. One lane will be closed.
A595 roundabout – Emergency roadworks are planned between 8am on January 11 until 5pm the same day. This will see one lane closed.
A66 closures and works
A66 eastbound between the A5086 and the junction with the A591 north of Keswick – Expect disruption every day between 9:30am to 3:30pm on January 10-14.
A66 westbound exit slip to the A591 east of Keswick – Planned roadworks will see the lane closed between 8pm on Monday, January 10 and 6am January 11.
A590 closures and works
A590 eastbound between the junctions with the A595 and the A5087 west of Ulverston – Roadworks are active until 8pm on January 20.
A590 westbound between the junctions with the A5087 east of Ulverston and the A5087 west of Ulverston – A lane will be closed due to emergency roadworks between 9:30am to 3:30pm on January 11 and 12.
A590 eastbound between the junctions with the A592 and the A5074 – Roadworks will be active between 9am on January 12 to 2pm on January 13.
