AS Workington MP, Mark Jenkinson continues to give his backing to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the public have weighed in on how they feel about his choice.
After the UK was told to go into lockdown and not see sick family members, many Downing Street staffers held boozy events at No10. Mr Johnson famously said he dropped in on one for 25 minutes and thought it was a ‘work meeting’.
Workington MP Mr Jenkinson has said: "My constituents, like many others across the country, have made huge sacrifices over the past two years. We listen to people’s stories with empathy.
"However, speaking to my constituents as I do on a daily business, it is clear that the majority to not think we should be spend time looking backwards.’
Reader Baz Gibson posted: "Generally I’m satisfied with Mark’s performance but this is simply wrong. Sadly for Mark, irrespective of whether he is a good MP or not, I will vote simply on the basis of whether Boris is still Prime Minister. Mark, if you want to continue to have my vote, get rid of Johnson."
‘Joe Bloggs’ posted: "They should all resign."
AmonFromSilloth added: "'Britain is one of the first countries to emerge from the pandemic'? What a load of tosh. Also, someone explain to Jenkinson that Wales and Scotland ARE part of Britain."
User ‘Orang Jaffa’ chimes in with: ‘[The Prime Minister's] private secretary invited 100 people, there is no chance he could do that without the authority of Bozo. Therefore, Bozo is telling lies, again…"
MCGC commented: "The question that Boris should be answering is why wasn’t he scared of catching Covid mingling with all of his ‘colleagues’ while pushing out the narrative for us be scared and not to mix with households etc. Time to go Boris. I forgave your bumbling two years ago, no longer however."
