THE INFAMOUS North Lakes Tattoo Convention takes place this year on April 1, 2 and 3.
The convention has been taking place now for 13 years and shows no sign of stopping, with each year more people attending, and more artists coming from places like New Zealand, as it's seen as one of the biggest conventions in the world of tattooing.
Colin Fell, the event manager, said: "Around 1,000 fans show up, and it varies each year.
"If you’re a tattoo enthusiast you can come and get inked, or you can simply watch the artists work as they really do create outstanding, innovative tattoos, the artists come from far and wide."
He continued: "I’ve been tattooing for 14 years and it’s one of the best couple of days ever if you’re into tattoos.
"People come to see the best tattoos in the world and how its done technically, they want to see the best tattooist in the world, which luckily, a lot of them come to Carlisle for the convention."
He added: "I think its the best thing to happen to Carlisle personally, it draws lots of people into the town and I don’t feel like it get the recognition it deserves which is a shame."
Previously, talented artists such as Hannah Brierley, who specialises in flower work, have taken part, and Nik Brierley, who is incredible with producing colour pieces, has also attended.
This year the theme is all things weird and wonderful, and it's impossible not to become immersed in it.
Tickets are on sale now.
