Our readers objected to a controversial 'public education display' spotted in Carlisle's city centre over the weekend.
A passing-by shopper, Shauna Moore, was walking through Carlisle City Centre on Saturday when she noticed a sign near to the Boots in Carlisle City Centre warning of 'graphic abortion photos ahead'.
She then said that she had walked further down the street to see four men holding up pictures of a dead baby foetus.
Shauna wrote on social media:"I caught a glimpse of the picture and started to well up and cry in the middle of town, I had to get away from there as it’s heartbreaking for anyone.
"How horrible this is for women who have actually gone through an abortion or a miscarriage," she said.
The posters and display was put out by the Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform UK (CBRUK) who say it aims to 'educate society on the humanity and value of unborn children and the reality of abortion.'
A spokesman for CBRUK said :"Our public education displays show large images of living and aborted babies so the general public are informed of the humanity of the unborn child and the reality of abortion.
"It is evident that many of the women and men who have had (or are considering having) their babies aborted are not informed of these facts. These images are only distressing because the act of killing a baby in the womb is distressing.
"We believe ALL human beings have value and deserve the right to life including the most vulnerable and voiceless children in the womb.
"We also believe there is healing available in Jesus for all who have been affected by abortion."
Much of our readers were of a similar opinion to Shauna.
Clare Matear wrote: "Surely groups need permission from someone to allow them to display their 'educational' content. Whoever has allowed this needs to take a look at how this could affect the public and how easily a group like this could create a very warped and dismissive view of what is essentially women's rights.
David Eyley said: "There is a time, and definitely a place for this - and in the middle of a city centre, where there's children and families around - that was neither."
Janice Roberts said: "This is so wrong, so many reasons why a termination might be chosen. And an individuals reason for doing so is their own business - awful putting this up in middle of Carlisle."
Sara Schina said: "My kids asked me what it was about, and they said it was very sad. I think the city center is not the place to promote certain personal opinions, that personal should remain."
Sarah Wilson said: "Women have reasons for doing this, everyone's circumstances are different and it's most definitely not an easy option, some may have health problems or just maybe just not the right time. I'm sure they will no doubt beat themselves up everyday and I'm sure they should not be made to feel like a bad person for a choice they choose for what's best for them."
