A FORMER Carlisle boxer once jailed for posting an abusive video aimed at bare-knuckle fighter turned actor Decca Heggie has admitted two fresh offences.
At the city's crown court, Daniel Shannon Christie, 37, admitted twice breaching a restraining order.
That order was put in place by a court to prevent him having any contact with Mr Heggie, or communicating with him in any way.
His new offences consisted of making videos aimed at the actor last November, the court heard.
The restraining order was originally imposed in 2019 after the defendant admitted an intimidation offence, involving a video in which he threatened Mr Heggie.
It featured Christie pacing up and down in his flat in front of a camera, and occasionally feigning punches as he yelled insults at Mr Heggie and his manager and made allegations about both men, at one point threatening to 'chin' one of them of they were meet him in the street.
In the latest court hearing, Christie's barrister Russel Davies said there was "substantial mitigation" for his client.
Christie had no desire to fight Mr Heggie and recognised doing so would amount to a breach of his restraining order.
Mr Davies said he needed to know more about the background before he could mitigate fully but he went onto outline various claims about Mr Heggie which he said were "entirely relevant" to Christie's offending.
Judge Nicholas Barker said the feud between the two men involved should be over.
He added that Christie knew the purpose of the restraining order was to ensure there was no contact between them "whatever the circumstances."
The judge ordered background reports on the defendant and set the sentencing date as March 25.
A psychologist would also be asked to prepare a report also on Christie, of Westmorland Street, Denton Holme.
The judge told him: "Your bail condition is that you are not to have any contact at all - directly or indirectly - with Decca Heggie and if you do I will remove your bail and lock you up."
The original case against Christie heard that he and Mr Heggie used to train together at the same gym.
But they fell out.
As a result of that, the court heard, Christie made a number of videos making defamatory allegations about Mr Heggie.
Mr Heggie reported it to the police, saying the videos - and the allegations they contained - left him distressed.
The non-contact restraining order was imposed for five years.
A former bare-knuckle fighter from Carlisle, Mr Heggie took up an acting career, appearing in the film Corrupted.
He was unbeaten in his 15 bareknuckle fights.
He has also spoken candidly about his struggles with mental health.
