Artists working in empty units have been offered an extension and will be holding an art event.
Called the Art Trail, it will take place on Saturday, February 12, in Devonshire Arcade, Penrith.
The artists include Ceri Allen, Christine Lowthian and designer Molly Sellars who took up the spaces in the Arcade provided by Hypha Studios, a charity which links artists and creatives with empty sites around the country.
Ceri Allen is an established Artist in Cumbria, and she says she primarily explores the theme of urban life.
Christine Lowthian has just completed her M.A. in Contemporary Fine Art, and says that her practice centres around contemporary debates about the human condition in the 21st century and 'the way that we might orient ourselves in the future'.
Molly Sellars is a young British fashion designer, originally from the Lake District, her work reflects her interest in outdoor clothing while highlighting sustainability.
Visitors to Penrith can take a tour of the exhibitions and open studios in the arcade followed by refreshments at The Lemon Tree café with 10 per cent off vouchers from the artists' studios.
New artwork produced during the residency will be on view alongside tote bags, cards and prints, all of which will be available for sale.
The event is also an opportunity to sign up for workshops and chat to the artists about their work.
