A man has been given a community order after stealing eight bottles of whisky from a supermarket.
Darren Hilland, 41, of Lakeland View, Workington, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop.
He appeared at Workington Magistrates' Court yesterday (Tuesday).
The court was told that Hilland stole eight bottles of whisky from Morrison's in Workington on January 14.
He was given a 12-month community order with 10 rehabilitation activity days.
Hilland was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £95 surcharge to fund victim services.
