A THIRTY-year-old Carlisle woman has been given a 42 day driving ban for an offence of being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the drink drive limit.

Kathleen Berry, of Hadrian Park, Brampton Old Road, committed the offence on January 24 while in a Toyota Landcruiser that was parked on Stanhope Road in Carlisle.

She had 60mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.

At the city's Rickergate court, she pleaded guilty to the offence. After hearing the details, magistrates fined her £120, with costs of £85 and a £34 victim surcharge.
