There are several road closures and works being done across Cumbria this week, beginning February 21, that may cause disruption to your journey.

Data from Traffic England shows various closures across the M6, the A66 and the A590.

We’ve listed the active and future roadworks set to affect Cumbria this week.

M6 closures

M6 northbound between junctions J44 and J45 – From 8am on February 22 until 11pm the same day a lane will be closed as emergency barrier repairs are undertaken.

M6 southbound between junctions J44 and J43 – A lane will be closed between 10am on February 21 as barrier repairs are planned. This will be in place until 8pm on February 25.

M6 northbound between junctions J41 and J42 – Road marking is planned and will see a lane closed from 8am on February 22 until 8pm the same evening.

M6 southbound between junctions J41 and J39 – Road repairs are planned between 8am February 24 and 8pm the same day. This will see one lane being closed.

M6 southbound between junctions J40 and J39 – Two lanes will be closed as road marking is planned. This will be in place between 8pm on February 22 until 5am February 23.

M6 northbound between junctions J39 and J40 – Planned roadworks will see one lane closed between 10pm on February 24 until 8am February 25.

M6 northbound between junctions J38 and J39 – Emergency roadworks will see one lane closed between 9am February 21 until 9pm the same day.

M6 southbound between junctions J36 and J35 – One lane will be closed from 6am February 23 until 3:30 pm March 11. This is due to planned roadside drain works.

M6 southbound between junctions J36 and J35 – All three lanes will be closed due to planned roadworks. This will cause disruption every day between the hours of 9pm and 6am in the period February 21-23.

M6 southbound between junctions J35 and J34 – Both lanes will be closed due to planned roadworks. This will cause disruption every day between the hours of 9pm and 6am in the period February 21-23.

A66 closures

A66 eastbound between the A5086 and the junction with the A591 north of Keswick – Roadworks are planned during the following timeframes:

9:30am-3:30pm from February 21 – 25

A66 eastbound between the junctions with the A5091 and the A592 – Road works are planned between 8pm February 21 until midnight on March 6.

A66 westbound between the junctions with the A592 and the A5091 - Road works are planned between 8pm February 21 until midnight on March 6.

A590 closures

A590 eastbound between the A592 and the junction with the A5074 – Emergency barrier repairs will see a lane closed between 8pm February 25 until 5am February 26.
