A NEW crime thriller called 'The Rising' has been partly shot on location in the Lake District.
The eight-part Sky Studios series is adapted from the 2016 French thriller- Beau Séjour.
Julia Churchman, who is working on the series, said: "The eight part drama is written by Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches, The Pact) and is the first series produced entirely in-house from Sky Studios, Sky’s production and development arm, who are working with executive producer Julian Stevens, producer of The Fall and Informer.
"He’s extremely talented and has brought the script to life.
"A large portion of the series is filmed in The Lake District. We decided to choose this location for it’s stunning imagery. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s coming along."
The story follows the death of Neve Kelly, who after waking up in a 'non-existence', is determined to find her killer and get justice.
