A COUPLE who we’re making their descent down Hall’s Fell, had to be rescued by Keswick Mountain Rescue on February 28.
The couple completed their climb up Gate Gill, Blencathra, but on their descent the changes in the weather made for poor visibility.
After two hours of being stranded, at 12.10pm the distressed call was made and agencies got involved, as the couple couldn’t proceed downhill due to the steep and felt unable to retrace their steps.
A small team was dispatched to help the pair, they we’re quickly identified in a low cloud area, and guided around the steep and back onto the path, with the help of seven team members from Mountain Rescue.
