A volunteer ambulance service has this week announced a positive update on a patient they responded to a few months ago.
A spokesperson from Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) said: "In December last year, we responded to Claire Hughes after she slipped and broke her ankle on a walk in Northumberland.
"Fast forward three months, and Claire is now taking part in our Race to the Base challenge to give back to our charity.
"She's completing her miles with a mixture of indoor and outdoor rowing, swimming, and a spot of hobbling as she's still recovering from her injuries – what an inspiration Claire is."
